What do you know about Edamame?
Spicy Edamame is actually immature green coloured soybeans in the pod. It is formed within a capsule or pod. Sometimes it is referred to as a soybean-type vegetable. It is widely cooked in Japan with light saltwater. The Japanese call it ‘Mukimame’ when the beans get out of the pod. Most of the edamame is sold in the US in frozen form. You can get it in most of the big supermarkets in the US. Almost all modern health food stores keep it.
Edamame is served in the bars and restaurants of China and Japan. In traditional cooking, edamame is incorporated to soups, salads, noodle dishes, stews etc.
