Been a while since I had a little rant so.............

I am sick and tired of hearing the rich and famous saying they should not be punished the same as us common people simply because it may tarnish their career and that by having their names and photos appear in the news is punishment enough.
If you do happen to be one of the rich and famous living in the media spotlight then too bad, simply don`t do the crime.

The latest is Aussie actor Ryan Corr who pleaded guilty in a Sydney court to possessing a small amount of heroin.

Quote "His lawyer Chris Murphy argued Corr's career would suffer if a conviction was recorded as he could be prohibited from entering other countries to work."

then he shouldn't have been doing heroin...

he broke the law.. record the conviction, if his work suffers then he just has to deal with it like the rest of us...
it is amazing how the rich and famous believe they are above the law .when was the last time one of these somebodies gave a large sum of the fortune to the poor and homeless instead of screwing them like they do .

........no, it woudl only change if would become famous as well....... ;)
But I do agree money seems to "lift" people above the law. How long did it take before Mr. Troy B finally faced the result of his driving "skills"?

I agree with the sentiments in general.

However I think the above comments are based upon a media report rather than the findings of the court case. Society has to be very careful on where they get their information from, media outlets (particularly commercial ones) are not a good place to start.

In this instance, it was determined that he is not a heroin user and a defense of "damaging future job prospects" is a common and fair one that can and is used by everyday people in courts all over the country.
