Secrecy

A

Al Swearengen

When I was around 18 years old, back in those halcyon days when I had long, wavy, Days of Our Lives hair & a 6 pack, my circle of equally dumb mates knew a circle of girls the same age (and intelligence) that had a girl within their group that they found out was a working girl. When they found out she was a working girl, they rapidly ostracised her. This was a girl that they had known since she was 11 years old. I had only met her a handful of times but thought I thought she was a nice girl. Its kind of preyed on my mind ever since.
Has this happened to any other working girls out there? How did you handle it? Do you tell anybody what you do for a living? Whats their reaction?

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to this particular girl -- how awful!

I started in the industry almost nine months ago and haven't had anything of this nature happen to me (yet). All of my friends and family (grandparents included) are aware of my work and are very supportive. x

That is pretty mean but at least the girl now knows who her friends are. That treatment says a lot more about them than it does about her.

I swear to myself when i started to work in this industry that i would take this secret to my grave.....
Little that i knew, that this industry very small, it doesn't matter if girl working in Canberra or Perth. And of course as much to my dislike i have met clients in brothel that i used to work with on day job. Financial brokers, business owners, university lecturers, i remember reaction on one of them....
" You? Here?..." Guess what happend after...All of them wanted to book me. It felt awkward, but i could run from it or learn from it.
So, i admit this to myself. Yes, Anastasia you are working girl. And if someone doesn't like than this people can get f....d.
I am not screaming out loud about my night job, but i am not ashamed of it. I learn a lot from it. I work in beautiful establishment, take care of my health and well being, don't drink, don't smoke, choose my own hours of work, pay my tax, and dont do anything illegal. And take it as another part of my life to get where i want to get...... In fact i felt more like whore when i worked 80 hours per week as executive. Underpaid and overworked.
Good thing that most of clients keep they visits to brothels quite as well..-) A lot of them married with kids. And i will take they secret to my grave.
I must say one thing, girls who keep this job as a secret sooner or later ( ones this job become permanent) it comes out and often bite really hard.....Someone, just one need to know about your work. For your own safety.
There nothing worse, in NSW ones, when one 18 years girl fell down on staircase and ambulance being called, parents drove in...You should see their faces when they had to pick up drunken daughter from brothel....Father was impressed...-))))

Wow all great comments Anastasia, in particular I can relate to this one as that's where I am at the moment, I like my work but the more work I do, the more I'm given, I get no thanks, paid badly for my qualifications and experience and metaphorically bent over and rodgered by the management. I'll be quitting soon to find a nice beach and maybe mow lawns or something less stressful. Corporate life sucks, glad to see you have found a viable alternative :)

Ahoy Bro Dallas;- what you have describe is just normal to the work force today.
As far as secrecy is concerned, there are more W/L out there than you think, there is a particular A Quiet Bunch that only pop up every once in awhile and some actually go interstate to do work as a W/L. They are all Privates and Secrecy is there main weapon of choice, some only work one day the rest of the week they take booking for there day shift others do the same during one night shift, they come do some work then disappear, now you see them----now you do`nt.

Ahoy HP, when did it change? I never got the memo? I was working away having a great time and making the world a better place with a team of happy people, kinda like happy pirates but landlubbers, then suddenly it all turned pair shaped. Managers were employed for the first time without people management skills, staff were made redundant to pay for new managers and now there's theres this them and us mentality which Dad used to tell me about in the 1950's. How did we get back there? Can I have a job on your ship? I'd make a good Bosun and can sing songs by the Pogues and yell shiver me timbers when it's freakin cold at the helm View attachment 13427

I quit my last job about 18 months ago. I wasn't a team player so I told them to "Stick your job up your a##e"
Now I go chat with the peepshow girls and go for the occasional punt during the week.

But then again my motto is NWNKDCDHT.

No way........I would only admit to it if caught in the act by a 'straight' friend/acquaintance......until then....deny deny deny. Even if I wish society would be ready to accept the industry as a legal profession we are still way off.
Even if I should admire some of my w/l colleagues for their 'guts' to admit to it openly I can only hope it won't come back one day and create a problem. I am not prepared to take the risk.......so yes, secrecy and double life for me. ;)

I sure that there are plenty of people out there that have more than one side to themselves , no one needs to know everything about yourself
I only tell people what I want them to know and that all depends on my relationship with them , be a friend , family, workmate etc
No one knows the full story about me just little bits that I'm happy to share with them

I'm pretty much an open book, the only secrets I have are those that have been entrusted to me by others and in particular a couple of ladies and those I will carry with me to the grave.

I'm with you Rochelle. A secret to take to my grave. Human beings are the most nasty of all animal species. I will never give anyone the satisfaction of using this against me or my family.

Totally agreed Rochelle, somethings are not for public info.

and not to forget........life would be very boring if everybody knows everything about other peoples' business. ;)
A secret here and there doesn't hurt........hopefully :)

Therefore, the rise of SMB (secret men's business or secret madam's business)...besides knowing everything about everything can ignite world war 3, 4, 5, 6,...
