Yes yes yes!

Food Scraps = chooks, ducks & dog
Paper etc gets used in chicken coop
Glass jars will be reused where possible.
10c bottles go back to the depot
The rest of the appropriate recycling goes into Yellow lid bin.

Then there's all the other stuff we do...

Kids paintings / drawings make great wrapping paper.
We never buy birthday cards etc.
Always reuse gift bags / shopping bags.

Old furniture to good too throw out can go to women refuges and other related groups where women are running away from DV and need furniture while they settle. Usually they leave with nothing but the clothes on their back.
Old cars can be sold cheap to the firies to help them practice with rescues
Bottles etc with the 10c reclaim. Most other stuff already mentioned.
Grey water for the garden.
Theres a lot that can be done

I love your post.
As a DV survivor I can attest to how much the furniture can change a persons life! 😍

As a volunteer firefighter, I can attest to how good it is having REAL cars to practice on. I know for a fact, if I hadn’t been able to practice on a real car, there’s no way I could attend to real car accidents the way I do.

Thank you so much for your contribution.

I never would have thought of this option before; I usually recommend people sell it to the wreckers for scrap - but this seems like a much better idea!
