Because there persistent little Devils , but Bankers are soft .
A WEST Australian farmer has been charged after bankers trying to visit his property were scared off by a rifle being fired into the air.
Police said two bank representatives had tried to visit the 53-year-old man’s property, near Denmark in the state’s Great Southern region, yesterday morning when the man allegedly appeared armed at the access road with a .223 calibre rifle.
He held the gun in the air and discharged a single shot, preventing both men from approaching the property, police allege.
The rifle was never pointed at the victims and no verbal threats were made, police said.
The bank representatives fled in their vehicle and reported the incident to police.
A search warrant was executed on the man’s residence, where police allegedly found a number of firearms owned and licensed to the man.
He has been charged with two counts of discharging a firearm to cause fear and is due to appear in Albany Magistrates Court on March 27.
