Hi I know i have mentioned this briefly elsewhere previously but its really starting to niggle me.
I am fed up with logging in, and seeing many new posts to read only to be disappointed that most of them are utter dross caused I believe by the fact that new forum members have to post a certain amount before they can do other things ( correct me if I'm wrong ).

What can be done to address this problem or am I the only one who see's this as such?

Well said Rhetty,

Also people who pull out threads that finished at least six months ago, just to make some banal comment.

Surely this board should be closing threads that are old?

Or trying to get casino cash

This is a pointless post too ... but I agree with you :)

That's what I was thinking... people are posting for the casino cash.
Maybe it should be adjusted somehow to stop the spamming...

I was thinking maybe to allow casino cash gained from posts to be cumulated and distributed at the end/start of the week (maybe sunday or monday)... but then I thought that it wouldn't change much.

Personally, I started regularly viewing these forums about a week ago (after quite a long absence), but you won't see many of my posts around as I try to make them about quality (as in worth reading) and not quantity (as in not for the casino money) ...well, that and I don't have much to say!

Also, I was amazed how much the forum had picked and changed when I returned.. well done Maryanne and the team (mods etc.)

It's a real catch 22 though, if the forum is moving (even if many are pointless posts) people stay interested and keep visiting. If the board doesn't move people get bored and move on, I remember people commenting not that long ago that the board was dead. There has to be a happy medium but good luck finding it.

OK,
How about this: - ----
bugger! I must be getting old. I forgot what I was going to post.Damn!
Seriously it is to keep the membership going to see the pics/comments etc.
Maybe they should be scrutinised and deemed something specifically relevant to this site!! Otherwise they don't count.
Nancy and those sort of issues are also welcome although may get out of hand!!
I am just a novice at this but thought I would have my 5 cents (is that all ) worth.

I just dont enjoy the site as much now that it is not so local... i understand opening the forum up to the rest of the world is a good way to get new members etc... but they dont seem to be sticking around anyway... you get this short "hi i am *** im from *** i want sex" post, then nothing when they get no response because noone else is from their country... i liked that most people i corresponded with over the site were pretty much local (to WA) i guess more people means more opinions, more variety etc... pro's and con's for each aspect to it i guess...

I guess it's just another fact of life we must live with... I don't favor discouraging anyone from posting...so long as it is relevant and non threatening... As for myself, well I may be as guilty as anyone for having 'too much to say'.... but when it comes to reading posts if the subject doesn't hold great interest for me I just 'move on'... and if it;s 'dribble' I do the same....

Probably the only thing we can do really.... as any other methodology would require extremly time consuming monitoring.

I think we'd be better off with non posting lurkers than a succession of 5 post spammers who then lurk. It would reduce the admin workload too.

Post number 69, deserves a pic.

Alot of newbies might want to dip their toes in the water first, instead of jumping straight in....

A few 'one-liners' from new members until they get more comfortable is fairly common

More Active members and fewer lurkers is the way to go

You make the forum what it is-therefore you have only yourself to blame. I found the forum not too bad. However those who have been as long time and have not fallen asleep should lead the way with new threads. Yes I know I have just lost the only friend I had on this site but I hope it was worth it. Life is full of people blaming other people for things they had the knowledge to solve themselves.
