Please, please please let it be true,

I just got told by a friend that Home and Away is set for the axe due to funding cuts.

I so hope this is true, I could never understand what anybody saw in a TV show such as this.

It doesn't seem like there is all that much solid work for Australian actors, it appears now there will be even less.

Is it a good show? Probably not But as Reggie said it was one of the few shows left requiring actors What is to replace it another Unique look at everyday life ie a Reality Show

When the Govt brought in the quota rules for local productions on TV I am sure Faux cookery shows and talent shows and voyeurism shows was not what they had in mind

Not that I have ever watched Home and Away but I know people who do. Its kind of sad, but if the ratings drop and production costs increase its a bit of a no brainer (like the show) it would get axed.
For so many people involved in the making of that show its a family and way of life that will be lost.
I am sorry for them.

When I was in my teens I watched home and away,,back then it covered a lot of issues with teens,,,pregnancy, low self esteem, drugs, drinking, physical abuse etc,,,I recently watched an episode and could not believe the bulls#$t that was on,,some stalker murderer at a wedding,,,seriously, what a crap and horrible story line (and in the wrong time slot to) which in know way deals with challenges teens are facing. Axe it I say.
