It had been a hard week. She was exhausted, frustrated, empty. When he had brought out the restraints she resisted. She wasn’t in the mood, she didn’t want to. He said simply “I know” and fastened the cuffs.
For almost an hour she had been sitting there. At first she had fought, yelled, pouted. Then she had struggled and whined. Finally she had surrendered, allowing the peace, the freedom fill her. She didn’t need to fight. She didn’t need to reason or plead. She didn’t need to think about all the other things that needed her attention. She needed only to rest, to be, to trust.
