It's not uncommon in the city to be strolling down one of the malls and for someone to walk out of a store with their head in their phones, or simply not looking in the direction that they're going, and walk straight into you! It doesn't cheese me off that much because I'm a solid bloke, but it does cheese me off to think they could knock down an old person or someone frail just by being inconsiderate.
So along those lines, two of my biggest pet peeves are:
Today, my friends, I had both at the same time! Just trying to head out for a relaxing coffee.
So the elevator doors open and I go to step out, but there are two blokes standing with their backs to the door blocking the exit. No biggie, can live with that. Then as I go to walk around them, one takes a side-step backwards without looking where he's going and hits me! Still, alright, no dramas - There's coffee to be had so I just kept on walking. But then he turns around and raises his arms, scowling at me like I was the monster that violated his personal space.
That's what got me cheesed off! So I ranted and raved with many expletives added, got told to calm down which was advice not followed, and stormed off. A few moments later I realised that to them I'm the bad guy.
Which I kinda get, but is it that hard to be a little considerate of those around you? Just walking about doing their own thing! Or am I just getting grumpy in my old age?
