An illegal sign advertising XXX porn work will be removed from a busy Gold Coast road after complaints the sordid advertisement was inappropriate. The sign which called on ‘girls for XXX porn’ was ironically set up on Hooker Blvd and was smashed by an offended passer-by. The Gold Coast council received complaints the advertisement could damage the city’s image, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports. The advertisement was accompanied with a mobile number and when women dialled it they were told the ‘XXX’ work was with an online porn production company. A Bulletin reader reported the incident and told reporters it was not appropriate viewing for children, families or tourists.
Councillor Bob La Castra said he would be seeking to have the sign removed immediately.
"This is illegal advertising and we will have it removed as soon as possible," he said.
"Besides that, it is definitely not the sort of message we want on our city streets."
