Omg! What a way to wake up!

After a night of burning up, (flu I think)I woke up to the sound of dogs fighting, I thought it was my 2 playing, then it sounded serious so I jumped out of bed and ran outside, one of my dogs bolted out the door behind me,,so I knew it wasn't my 2.
Another dog had jumped my side fence, it had come via my neighbours yard after it had killed their chooks, it had jumped her fence to.
Luckily my boy and the other dog were ok,,,a few superficial injuries but they weren't fighting that hard and luckily my dogs collar saved his neck. Freaked me out though, I'm still shaking. The owner of the other dog said he is putting his dog down, but that breaks my heart. I don't blame the owner or the dog,,it's what dogs do, I do see his point but I am an animal lover and would rather see him re-homed than put down,but that's not my decision to make

I just had a talk with him,,he thinks a cat may have been the initial motivation to jump the fence, he is going to raise his fence but if his dog gets out again he will put him down,,he said he would rather do that than him end up in bad hands and used in a dog fighting ring. I do understand that. He asked if I was going to call the ranger but I said no, he does all the right things to keep his dog in, it's the people who don't that should have the ranger called.

That's what he is worried about. He is a lovely man and would be devastated if his dog hurt someone.

My poor boy is a bit sore tonight, lot's of cuddles and spoiling coming his way..

So good your boy and dog are ok-that would have been absolutely terrifying for you!
That's very good of you not to ring the ranger-I'm sure your neighbour is grateful-hopefully it never happens again
