Oktoberfest is my birthday
I don't drink alcohol much , but I can eat a lot of German sausages (meat mixed Some special spices smell nice ) at the Oktoberfest . the weather is Sunny & breeze Comfortable to walking everywhere ,Spring in Australia, Autumn in Asia

Hello all my Aussie friends can you please tell us more about this fest, like why do you celebrate and what else happens.... it looks interesting though.

Octoberfest originated in Germany/Bavaria 200+ years ago.

As an Aussie, we celebrate it because we are a fully inclusive society celebrating all traditions and cultures of all members of our society.

Of much lesser reason, I believe it may be a beer festival.

German settlement in Australia began in large numbers in 1838, with the arrival of immigrants from Prussia to Adelaide, in the then colony of South Australia. German immigrants became prominent in settling South Australia and Queensland. From 1850 until World War I, German settlers and their descendants comprised the largest non-British or Irish group of Europeans in Australia.

Hence better beer and German Festivals then came the BooBies.............

octoberfest has many types of tasty beers an types of foods and sausages and those girls in there traditional dresses win me ovher all the time makes me feel family to my ancestors from the UK and Europe.
