Movie review. The Butler

It'd a view of the American civil rights movement in the 50/60's through the eyes of a "coloured" butler but its a pretty ordinary movie.

Has an all star cast. Oprah, kravitz, mariah carey, cuba gooding jnr and forrest whittaker but none of them provide a stand out performance. Dare i say but the producers relied to heavily on having famous black people to sell the movie. Oprah certainly wont be winning any awards

The movie touches on some key historical events but really fails to acknowledge them properly.

Not a bad movie to watch if your killing time but dont go out your way to watch it

Two actors out of a list of 5 And the other three are a Rockstar a warbler and a TV host with too much clout It was on a hiding to nothing
Often such movies are a vehicle to push the views of a wealthy person such as Oprah so all to often get bogged down in the sundries and forget all about the story

I mean look at shooting for Columbine That was the personal crusade No matter how important the subject It just doesn't work Well , not for me anyway

So I take it there was not too many teenagers in the love seats up the back row Magoc

Showing my age but do Any theatres still have love seats?

Actually it was pretty mixed viewer group. I heard one lady clap in front of me but i think some people get so caught up in the history, they are too afraid to criticise a movie.

I dunno about love seats H2, i know grand cinemas (where i go as its cheap) dont but i did go to cannington (?) cinemas years ago (9!) with a girlfriend and they had them. Nfi if still do now.

Gold class at Innaloo is a great setup but far to pricey to watch most movies.

Fat Oprah rating is 5 max...can't fit it into the rating boxes if we go more.
Thin Oprah max rating is 5 and a half depending on the stage of the thinning process.
