I could say "something easy to remove" or "something clean!" but they are the obvious answers.

My opinion would be that it depends on the individual. I pretty much only wear boxers because I am uncomfortable in briefs. Someone else might feel the opposite way.

Who would wear budgie smugglers?

It depends on the guy on which piece of underwear he should wear, generally I would agree with Haley and say - just nothing will do....
