Their parents said goodbye to them at the airport as lots of us do when we send our children
off to see their grandparents, or their aunts and uncles without a thought that we may never see them again! It was different for the Maslins ...

Can you imagine how you would feel if that ever happened to you?

I just post this so that you will wake up every day loving the family and friends around you....
not forgetting to say I LOVE YOU to them....

I just thought this thread for a change would focus on the emotional loss the families must feel...as you don't know how your life can change in a split second!
& how we should appreciated our loved ones be it wives, husbands, children , parents.....

Sorry DD, I wasn't thinking straight, my best friend who's also a working lady has just been raped in her own home and I'm very emotional at the moment and I guess I'm just overly focusing on loving people.. I'm going to be be away from the site for a while ... I will delete it though....

Thanks DD that's so sweet of you. Part of the problem is that I'm on my own and my friend is in Melbourne 300km away, so I won't be able to get down for a couple of days.. I'd love to be in Perth with you.. I sure do need a hug at the moment.. you guys probably hear so many things but it's just the circumstances of this... it's tears my heart out...thanks though for being a friend and so supportive

Actually it happened to her in her own bed at her parents place by a friend of her parents after she was drunk and as she said had let her guard down because she thought she was safe in her own home. She described to me in detail how she tried to fight this guy but in her weakened state just couldn't - she'd lost her strength and worst of all he kept telling her he loved her.. like they'd only met as acquaintances a couple of times...she told her mother the next day, and her mother said that it was her own fault for being drunk and that if she didn't want it why didn't she fight back? Nobody in her family knows her previous working history. There's such a heart wrenching history behind this.. too long for here.. but I'd worked with her to get her off meth, out of an abusive relationship and then out of the industry and into a regular job.. she just started to trust men again then this happened.. I won't tell you what I want to do to the guy and her mother.

Hey Sue, thanks! I'm sorry for getting a little upset on here, and I think I am, I've been there for her it's all I can do as there's nobody else she can talk to.
