There is an employment company in Germany whose name is Jobs In Town.
Their motto, as you can see, is "life's too short for the wrong job"

- their working premise is to match folks with jobs that suit them and that they will enjoy.
One of their advertising gimmicks is putting these 3D posters on various machines
throughout Germany and perhaps nearby countries as well...

There's an advertising belief which carries much truth; "You can't polish a turd". One of the ways it can be interpreted is that you can promise the world - but if don't deliver on those promises, then no one's going to buy your product or service.

I get lots of emails promising the world from QANTAS because I was a premium frequent flier. Their service had deteriorated to such an extent that nobody buys their marketing anymore; even when their tickets are cheap! It's a real shame when you consider how emotionally appealing some of their branding was e.g. the famous one of "I still call Australia home" with all those choirboys and girls and their service at one time was able to match that emotion.

While the sentiment that life's too short for the wrong job certainly hits home, I think their challenges would be to prove that they can find people the right job and overcome a general belief that "right" jobs are mostly a myth in this age of downsizing, redundancies, shareholders dividends and stiff competition.

Yes! would totally agree, I used to have what I considered the right job a few times, but they were all made redundant as they were too much fun and I wasn't looking miserable like everyone else.

British Airways produced something legends are made off and delivered. Same deal now as Qantas - struggling to capture that market share;

Not trying to hijack this thread but Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame) once wrote a very telling proverb; "Anything that makes employees unhappy will drive up company share prices!"

Oh, and I'd been in intensive training for that one too! Oh well, my second perfect job would be Beach Inspector, I have had experience in finding lost bikini tops in rough surf and don't mind surfing with the sharks as long as they bite someone else :)
The other job would be the Referee for professional topless beach volleyball competitions, I think I could keep a breast of that...

It is isn't it, you have to work for a long time in your life so it would be wonderful if we all could have that dream job, but always remember "there's NO lock on the gates either.

Life is too short for WRONG JOB AND WRONG PERSON IN YOUR LIFE! Millions of people going to job they hate or live with someone they dont love. And i could NEVER understand miserable life like this. Only one exception, if someone not well, dont give them up in difficult times.

Ahoy I agree with your view point, unfortunately a lot of people walk out of relationship once one partner has become very ill, very common in today world. As well a lot of people stay in loveless relationship due to security or financial reason`s. So in summary, wrong job, wrong relationship and finally we all kick the bucket alone

That is so true HP! and exactly what I've been contemplating the last few months on my own.

I agree!, I was married for 20 years and my ex got breast cancer about 5 years ago. She went through all the chemo and radio treatment over a year which was really tough and has been cancer free for 5 years now which is great.

However, her doctor took me aside and said some huge percentage of guys leave when their partners get breast cancer. I had no intention of being one of those as I loved my partner so and did everything I could to support her through that time yet as soon as she was finished the treatment she left me. The doctor didn't mention anything about that :(

My job while it pays well is insanely boring and is like an emotional vacuum, nobody smiles, there's no team and I get treated like a computer, so I'm selling everything I own, quitting my job and moving to Perth to start a new life and get a fun job with fun people even if I have to work for free. Ironically, I've had more emotional support from working ladies than I ever have had in the real world.

Dallas, i think....For Man in todays society...Its more acceptable to have boring job, because they have RESPONSIBILITY. Kids, mortgage, wife, that always have "nothing" to wear...So a lot of guys put up with it, for sake of $$$$. But being a WOMAN, there is NO WAY , after age of 30+ to be on wrong job. You can make mistake when you very young, yes. But, at 27+ you should know better, what would you like to do....

Yes good point Anastasia, in one sense I guess I'm fortunate that I don't have kids or a family or any other responsibilities that require a high income except my visits to LT's so I can probably can do anything for a while. I'm open to suggestions, I'm thinking something that involves the beach, music, being outdoors, fun ladies and exercise. I might just head to the beach and do all those things and see if anyone offers me a job! :)

My favourite job is my current job. I'm in my PJ's 50% of the time.

Hard work never killed anyone but why risk it.

aah, jobs you can either take it or leave it. It's another civilized word for modern day slavery. We are all peanuts collectors, get paid in peanuts for sweat.
