In this modern day of IT technolgy is nt it amazing how companies all think were up to date with modern te hnologies .
weve now gone to making appts at doctors online pay ur bills o line check ur banking details online
these days u can do almost anything online........great if u've got a computer n reliable comp.
just recently i recievd a letter informing me that the BGL moniter ( whuch i use to moniter my diabetes) is soon to be obsolete. offering me a new BGL moniter free of charge ( a saving of about $50.) Wow i thought.
followed their instructions on applyi g for this free offer at internet cafe.nlo n bhold wk later it gets delivered to my front door
Eagerly tearing the box apart n inspe ting the contents .
reading the instructions it seems to b good thing ..no loner need paper book to record my sugar levels but can d/load direct to my mobile thru B/TOOTH
im told to d/load an APP from play store to get the benefits.the company claims that i can now do away with my BGL recording book n record all my BGL readings direct to my mobile thru BLUTOOTH
Yay good idea go to play store on mobile.n find cant d/loadAPP
go to their website n bring up my new BGL on line ...n check thru n then find my device is not able to recieve the APP..thank u very much company
my mobile is not xactly out of date but ive nnoticed these days that everything n all compa ies require u to have a hi rated I- phone.or hi range android phone to benefit from their new ideas
not all of us can afford these phones
yeah the days of paper records r gone or dying...but watabout thinking bout the peeps who dont have these hi end I phones or latest upto date comps.
PS i have a Samsung core prime android Smart phone

Bepp i had found the same problem with a new BGL monitor. when i went to test the unit for the 1st time i found that it was not suited to my hi-end android phone, i then phoned the company to ask why i could not fit the unit to my phone . the reply was that it just didn't as ye , so i returned the unit by mail and received a refund, all this @ my cost .

Thanks JL i also attend a health clinic who have developed an APP so we can track our progress but guess wat .unless i have an I phone of some sort im left out in the cold
so why cant these corporate business think of us normal peeps

And he wonders why he has already lost a few toes and has bad nerve damage in his feet

rang the company up to xplain my sit. N request some BGL diary books cause ATM cant use this new u beaut BGM as it should b used n guess wat they stopped making those books2 yrs ago..
.they were going to offer me annudder BGM but i wouldve been in same sit.so i told id work with this one..
she made me laff ...i told her my brand of phone wasntcompatible with their software....n she told me the IT wizzkids in her office never heard of my phone ....should ve told her go look at samsung webpage ..so now unless i fork out 5/6hundred for compatible phone..i'll have buy a book from newsagents n fill it with my xemplary BGL's
oh BTW i kept a cool head when talking on phone....kept my anger management in place....hehehe

Glad it ended well, sort of, bepp. Despite all the whinging about these large companies, I too have always found the Telstra call centre operators very helpful and friendly, just like the Qantas ones. Only hope upper management don't outsource them all completely.

PS. I positively ooze empathy. As of now, I've given 113 of those weird little lime balls...but only received 17. (If I could give myself one now, I'd do so.)

ive found the call center people with telstra try to help, but i found the outsourced local techs who come out to fix the pits are the big problem. they just give up quickly because they only get a low rate per visit.

phone issues are a pain, my parents use simple nokias, but i do find ipads a lot easier for old people than a computer, at least i have to less tech support
