I intend to do a number of post in a general heading is it natural.
The first of these is monogamy:
Do we do our selves a disservice by being monogamous. I think this is an interesting question in particular if we look to nature to see if we are strange animals in being so. Well surprisingly the answer is that there are in fact other monogamous animals. Gibbons are a good example of this.
There are how ever far more animals that are not. Females (animals in particular mammals) when in season will mate as often as possible.
Primates (Humans Great Apes and the lesser apes) also engage in recreational sex. The recreational sex animal are not monogamous and in fact they are as randy as hell…
Is it simply a Judea Christian thing that pushes this aspect.
I firmly believe there is a separation between sex and love so they can be separated. I would be interested in seeing your thoughts.
