Is it fair???? I was talking with a lady friend this evening who was explaining how she had arranged to take the morning off work so that a plumber could come to her house somewhere between 8am and 12pm.
Instead he rocks up at about 4pm only to say he wouldn`t have time to do the job and will have to comeback.

Since she has lost at least half a days pay waiting for him is it fair that she asks him to take what she could have earned off the bill?? She`s not but just imagine if she happened to be one of those high close W/L who happen to charge $800 as an hourly rate.

Waiting for tradesman can be a pain I know they get very busy But a little courtesy goes a long way, I mean who hasn't got a mobile phone now ?

The joys of the single life are tested in your friends scenario BB

People like plumbers who can be in high demand are often in a mindset where they think they can treat people in a disrespectful way as they have an abundance of clients.

In any industry people seem to do this.

But every body's time comes when their luck is down and 'loyalty' generated from being good to clients will save them. That is if they have them.

And yes Billy .....high end escorts are very similar to this scenario........

Alas some trades lie plumbers deadlines not a easy thing to do.
A simple job may turn out to be complex job. Once they start they have to finish it.
I use to have a great plumber for about 10 years but even still his time did vary and eventually no guarantee he would turn up at all.
A good plumber is a busy one. :)
I use to always give him cash and a tip.
He did save us a few times when we had a emergency.

Time waits for no man, woman or animal. :)

The guy who was supposed to connect my apartment up was meant to be in thursday last week.
I don't know if he's been through, no call, no note, nothing. I had work that afternoon and just moved expenses like a day off work for someone who could be around between 9am and 6pm just isn't accurate enough.

Explaining that to the company no sympathy was shown and no attempt was made to make it as convenient as possible.

I've worked as a temp at an electrician's office in Perth and the sparkies would call the office when they were finished one job and on the way to the next which was when the receptionists would call the client with an ETA
