If someone is using whether it be Ice, Crack, Kronic or whatever the first thing is "Denial" then "I've got it under control"
I'm a bit naive or maybe just don't want to know specially when it's close to home. Appreciate your views

all those things are very different.
I can tell you that synthetic cannibus ( first incarnation kronic) is by far away the most powerful of what you mentioned.
I tried the smallest scrap and was blown right away by a terrifying experience.
ive seen it literally melt someone's brain before my eyes over the course of a few hours smoking it.
it truly makes other drugs look harmless...

I wish I could just say let people do their own thing and enjoy themselves on this stuff, but the psychosis it causes, ill even put weed in this, is just ruining perfectly good people on reaching their potential. The inability to concentrate the erratic thoughts and uncontrolled rage is a menace that is hard to reverse, so it cannot be self managed. Just being out of it all the time or on occasions just doesn't want you to do anything else useful so you miss out on all sort of other fun life things. People think they can treat this like a alcohol type drug but the psychosis it causes is far worse, we are loosing minds, that's sad.

Amen Holford.

If these drug-taking idiots were only stuffing up their own health and welfare I would say leave them alone but in a mutually dependent society it doesn't work that way.

Firstly, when they lose their jobs good old Centrelink, ie the poor old taxpayer, has to support them via the dole.

When they steal or rob to feed their habit the victims suffer.

When they get caught the Police, the Courts and possibly the prison system spend more taxpayer dollars sorting them out.

When they wipe themselves out and crash a car or assault someone, again there is "collateral damage" to society as a whole.

If I had my way the emphasis would be more on locking up addicts and "recreational users" than trying to catch importers and manufacturers because it is the stupid kids buying this crap who drive the demand. Make it too hot for them to handle, ie mandatory detention in a rehab facility for your first possession charge, and you eliminate the demand and destroy the market.

the link between psychosis and drug use is poorly understood but as more studys are done it seems to becoming clearer that the drugs dont cause it but bring it out in susceptible people.
ice is a bit different along with other amohetamines its the lack of sleep and being hyper when dog tired or really drunk that causes the issues.
people regularly stay on it for over 5 days ... now 5 plus days with no sleep will melt anyones brain . Then add alcohol which seemingly has no effect when on amphetamines and youve got a train wreck waiting to crash

I hate artificial weed and I hate that places I've worked at sell it. (And therefore, I sell it)

I wish sex shops would sell stuff pertaining to sex, not narcotic use.

ahhh alcohol...
the drug thats caused more deaths and violence and addiction than any other by a very very very long way
Sometimes. But I've never lost my licence, had a smash, beaten anyone up, lost my job or called in sick and hungover just from having a drink. I once had maybe three tokes on a joint and didn't feel any different.

I know they're trying to outlaw the selling of Kronic in all it's various forms. It is really scary shit. The problem is going to be how they frame the legislation so that distributors can't just subtly change the composition of the mixture, change it's name, as sell it as something else, which is 'legal'. Unfortunately they're playing catch up on banning this shit.

Studies indicate that there are people who have addictive tendencies. So addictive gamblers often drink smoke and inject. Some people can dabble and not get hooked. Do we id these people and train them to be careful? The most successful drug mitigation program has been cigarettes - should that be the model ? I don't know what the answer is but it is a problem that is getting worse and needs to be addressed by a comprehensive program.

But when the Indos catch people (with the help of our Fed Police), who do smuggle the stuff, apparently more than half of Oz (including all our pollies) cry out that they should not carry out their law - so we hate the stuff, but want to be soft on people who peddle the stuff !

We are a very confused society !
