However we do not do this .

Farmers can not spray your porridge with glyphosate firstly its not legal that's right its against the law but . and this is important oats will quickly die when sprayed with roundup .

Problem is Monsanto put out a paper 5 or 6 years ago putting forward the idea of spraying Glyphosate on the crop prior to harvest to speed up the drying process
In the US this was I can not imagine any farmer anywhere doing anything so stupid Or EXPENSIVE
Besides we have a dry climate early maturation is not required in this country

And it was only a paper

And they dont want you to introduce gm strains that are broad spectrum herbicide resistant in the future. That looks like an awareness campaign to keep gm out

That Can be done just before harvest H2 but its not on the label so therefor if something goes wrong and you do some damage to someone big trouble might come your way , ie maybe you might have to bye all the oat stack and cart it home .

So is the idea to stress crops making them put all energy into seed production or simply to kill the crop so it dries? What is the witholding period for glyphosate?
Maybe too many questions from me now so i might leave this thread to the good folks with farmie knowledge...

I think (emphasis on "think" because I don't remember for sure) Monsanto experimented with this on the coca plants in Columbia. Back in the days when it wasn't clear whether we (the Americans) were fighting or supporting the cocaine traffickers. They sprayed the crops, jungles, and villages all at the same time - just a blanket spray.

Another one without research
Monsanto has experiments or supported farmers who did In Hungary
It was trialled on Sunflowers crops to produce even seed production/maturation
