Well it depends on whether you are of the Male or Female gender.

As the 'business' is still officially 'illegal' in WA then one who intends to operate a 'business' must obtain the 'nod' from the Police.... who will not provide that essential 'nod' to a Male person.

Then, once you have obtained the 'nod' then you must keep your 'nose clean' , tow the line and pay your taxes....and if you don't then you will be arrested and charged.

If, on the other hand, you are a single female working alone then you just go 'do your thing' for Prostitution, in itself, is not illegal.... however 'living off the eraning s of'......and 'Keeping premises for the purpose of'.... are both presently illegal in WA.

Draft legislation has been before the Parliaments of Western Australia on many occassions over many years.... but so far no law to legalise the 'business' has yet been passed.

The Law of course varies from State to State.... so what you can or can't do in WA may be different in other states within Australia.

So, if you are a bloke seeking to operate in WA... forget it!

OK, so you cant run a brothel so to speak as a male in WA, but you can operate privately??? As whenever i am looking for gals in the west there is always a few guys advertising

NO.... Males cannot own/operate brothels or escort businesses in WA and knowone can legally live of the eranings of prostitution. So if there are any Males out there who 'rent' girls out then they will, sooner or later fall foul of the law.

sorry must of got lost in web translation, i mean males in the west paper, advertise themselves for gals who want a service, same as a private girl, definitely seen the ads, so how are they working around the law then???

Sorry, I misunderstood where you were coming from.

Ok, so a single male, working alone, can provide sexual services on a 'one-on-one' basis with another consenting adult on a 'fee for service' basis.

Thanks for clearing that up Sir Stefan, the unofficial laws sound all very confusing, to me i dont see the difference in running a establishment and providing the services yourself, it's pretty much the same :)

Anyhow thems the rules and that's the the way it is.

Yep.... 'rules' do seem a bit 'strange'.... but in the absence of appropriate legislation the 'rules' apply with the intent of protecting Ladies from being 'exploited' .... whether it works or not is anyones guess.... but that's the way it is.... until the WA Government passes 'workable' and 'equitable' legislation.
