Hill walking

I’ve just started training for a big year of hiking next yearly, with a lot of time planned for the Stirling Ranges.
Does anyone know of some good hills in the metro or not far out that I can walk. I have a number of go to hills but would like to do others.

This guy has an awesome site that has led me to some great trails. Enjoy!

Baldwins bluff in Jarrahdale is good, especially once you're back into it. Also Wungong brook has a great walk.

I used both (and kokoda / jacobs ladder etc) for training in prep for a big walk i did in a different life and both were good.

Stirling ranges are fantastic. I'd love to do the ridge walk but these days it'd be unlikely unfortunately.

Thanks. I’ve done Baldwins but not Wungong, I’ll look it up. The Ridge Walk is on the cards for next year, among others.

Jacob's ladder is a killer - especially if you got extra weights on you. Soft sand beach walking is great too - again add weights and it can be a killer. Mind you a must do if you are planning the cape to cape walk.

I've done Bluff Knoll and Toolbrunup Peak in the Stirling Ranges in winter. Carried a heavy pack with photography and radio equipment.

Back home I climbed a mountain once a month to service a radio repeater. Views are always a reward.

Kokoda Track is a dream but maybe only a dream.
