Hijacking threads

I am getting sick of threads getting dragged of topic by individuals on this site. Today I wrote a genuine review but it was taken out of context and taken off topic by the normal few who I see consistently doing said hijacking of free speech.
I will agree I have problems expressing my feelings or more to the point saying something without really saying it.
But for FUCKS sake all I was trying to say was I had a fantastic time with a fantastic lady and we all should embrace that positively.

I am sure you put in words what many think silently.

I hope I did not hijack your original thread when I replied, but assume not as you liked my reply. I did note the other contributions you allude to and had similar thoughts.

I take the view that reviews serve several purposes:-

• the help inform fellow forum members in their search for good quality
• they reward the service provider for good service
• they assist the reviewer self interest by enhancing the potential to repeat the enjoyment.
• they are "word of mouth" promotion of the service provider to ensure they continue to be successful, and as a result available in the future

What you identify as highjacking, seek to debase or devalue these objective through personal attacks or irrelevances. As you suggest, not positive, but perhaps there are ulterior motives or perhaps commercial agendas at play? As we have no idea of who is behind the avatar, one can but wonder how many are sourced from the same keyboard?

Perhaps we shall both now be excommunicated for voicing such views (again!)

Whether her admirer's reviews are hijacked or not, I see that the most important one, Blondie herself, appreciates the support from her legion (growing) of loyal admirers.

Equally she is not afraid to support those who support her, in spite of opening herself up to the same games. This is what makes her who she is and such a delight to share special time with.

But maybe reviews should be left be
As a review is very personal and just because we dont agree with the review We must remember That the review is the point of view of the individual and should be respected by not making snide remarks about the the reviewed or the reviewer

That said every post can indeed help refresh and renew

I think people are concerned to comment in case we go off topic.

I do think that happens in life's conversations as well, starts off in one place and drifts back to topic. I think its worse here when the forum members are online at the same time and it becomes a conversation rather than a thread on topic...maybe you should post at 3 am...?...

just so you all know ,us moderators and admin will allow , up to a point a thread to be hijacked but if is too far off course and maybe a little insightful we will do out best to bring it back on topic and if not then we will delete the posts that do not pertain to or add character to said post then we will close the thread .

Hey take it easy there Locoman.....free speech is a 2 way street, choose a lane mate and make room for us all...but you know at the risk of taking this thread down a different path, I have put some thought into what causes so much difference of opinion on the forum, and I've got the fucking answer too!!!!

It may be because there are really 4 different groups of forum users, each basically involved for different reasons...now i said basically cos of course we all share the love of talking sex blah blah blah, so this is what i mean...so there are 4 main groups:

1.The forum owner wants this forum to be successful and make money, that means members, activity and paying advertisers......

2. the advertisers want member activity (especially reviews of their shop/s) and return on the advertising fees...

3. the WL's want more business and try to build clientele from members.....

4. and what about us punters, well we want to talk some shit about RnT and WL's and where to get a good one....and hear about others experiences good and bad so navigating the bullshit in the industry such as clock watchers, dud girls and bad service....

You would think its a recipe for cooperation, well, not all the time......for instance, members want to share information openly about good service but can't openly unless the provider is a paid advertiser...... yet some paid advertisers in the AMP game regularly post fake internet pics of girls on the forum, and in doing so give us punters a serve of our number 1 pet hate...... and of course some WL's get famous on the forum and then jack up the prices on us punters as a thank you..

And lets not forget our little green leader Yoda whose got the cunt of a job of managing this situation to the satisfaction of all concerned......

So you see Locoman, we all gonna disagree sometime man, and its ok if some asshole takes your thread to another place cos thats the way sometimes the truth gets said.......

The only solution in my book is everyone has a right to speak freely so long as they don't abuse anyone else, and we should keep our advertisers to honest advertising practices as respect to members (and criticising someones service or saying it is crap is not a personal attack people.......)

Now after all that who can recommend me a nice AMP girl that can blow me in the morning....

Fully agree nightrider, but you forgot one other category - posters who post just to get their total number of posts up.

If you look at ALL the posts from some members, all they appear to do is to post inane comments about others' posts without adding anything of real value to the thread.

They are not actually hijacking the thread, but they add a lot of meaningless meat to the forum. But there are a number of members who don't really contribute much. I have no problem with this as they don't do any damage.

Quite often we see posters making humorous responses, and then others playing on words and puns to be humorous, and that is the kind of fun we expect/enjoy on the forum - members like Happy2, Sir Cruiser and Farmboy are past masters at this. This is not hijacking the forum, this is adding the tablespoon of fun that the forum needs. Yet another category of posts.

If a thread is really hijacked into a direction that is nothing like the original intent, then I have often seen moderators close off threads, or post comments bringing it all back on 'task'. On other occasions, like nightrider said, the forum is here for people to make their opinion known, and if that leads off into the wide blue yonder, then so be it.

Some really great contributions to this thread and it started with my disapproval of a review I did and the comments that I saw as disrespectful.
I feel that I may have been over sensitive but still feel strongly that some threads are taken off topic and do not add to the topic.
All that being said I have enjoyed the way things have unfolded and have a new enthusiasm for the forum and it's members.
