Health Issues and YOU!!!!

M

Mary Anne PA

I have been doing lots of research and study of the last couple of years in whatever spare time I can get to learn of natural remedies and things to protect your health and body without using toxins etc. Things that can promote well being, give more energy and prolong your life term I guess.

Giving much thought to it, I decided to start this thread to add different bits of information I find for those to whom it may help in any way.

I am not putting this information for everyone to take as gospel or to ignore any doctors information, but sometimes they aren't always right and some don;t look for natural alternatives before putting the knife in to you or giving you toxic medications.

I occassionally use chemical medicine but very rarely as I'm lucky enough to rarely get sick but am also preparing myself for the onset of things that catch you by surprise or are expectant to come with ageing. I hope to combat most of these naturally and without stress, hence my research.

I will add different things that I come across or find and think significant, that you may read and follow up more on if you so wish. The choice is yours.

MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION (Viagra alternative)

Causes, Remedies, and Why You Should Avoid the Unkindest Cut of All

Most prescription drugs and even over-the-counter nostrums contribute to
sexual dysfunction in both men and women. They can damage the vascular
system, the nerves and the endocrine system. And endocrine problems lead
straight to low serum testosterone, which leads straight to impotence.
Hundreds of men have asked if it is true that 'Maca powder' is a natural, safe substitute for Viagra.

The answer is that doctors in Peru and the US say that it is,
provided, and this is crucial, provided the man is not taking drugs to lower
cholesterol, or to lower blood pressure. These drugs can have such a damaging effect
upon erectile function that nothing, not even Maca, can revive it.
In these cases, the only hope that can be offered is that men who have been given
virtual death sentences by their cardiologists recover by embracing the Hippocrates Health Centre program.

Even men who have been told they would die if they didn’t
have triple bypasses! They can often discontinue these libido-dampening drugs, but
only under medical supervision. It is, as I’m sure you’ll agree, preferable to get your
dietary act together before your physician tells you the end is near.
According to a report in the Journal Of The American Medical Association),
Prozac (the anti-depressant) causes sexual dysfunction in 75 percent of the patients
who take it! If you were depressed prior to taking Prozac, think how much worse
you would feel if it caused you impotence. So, men, stop thinking every problem can
be solved by a pill and look to your medicine cabinets and lay the blame where it
belongs – with a medical profession that hands out drugs like jellybeans, and often
does not warn men about this dreadful side-effect, and wouldn’t know the right diet if they fell over it.

It’s up to you. Go over your kitchen with a critical eye and accept responsibility for your condition. Be resolute when tempted and remember that artery disease contributes to impotence, as the result of atherosclerotic disease of the
vessels that supply blood to the penis, and to the nerves that make erection possible.

Is that chocolate mousse really worth such a sacrifice? Are those highly promoted plastic oils (which are in nearly all manufactured food and which have been clogging your arteries) so delicious that you are prepared to lose your
masculinity? They don’t care if you become impotent, or have a
killer heart attack, and most doctors do not know that the very oils which are touted
as heart-friendly are deadly for your arteries.
If you are considering a vasectomy, think again. The first bad news to surface
when they became popular was that arthritis sometimes is a side-effect of the snip.
More pertinent to the subject at hand, there is persuasive evidence that vasectomies
can lead to impotence. William Campbell Douglass, MD, in Second Opinion, January 2000, tells of a study run at a Well-Man clinic in London, which reported on 445 men who complained of impotence.
A ‘marked reduction’ in testosterone levels
was found when more than 10 years had elapsed since the vasectomy. Dr Richard
Petty, who runs the clinic, said, “Men contemplating a vasectomy must take a
calculated risk and accept it could have an erosive effect on testosterone levels. I
would not have one myself.” Dr Petty said there is no explanation why testosterone
levels go up following vasectomy surgery and then, years later, drop off.
Dr Peat says, “When impotence occurs after vasectomy, a few small doses of
progesterone, about 5 or 10mg per day, will often restore normal potency in just two or
three days. This is because damage to the vas deferens can specifically, but
temporarily, suppress progesterone production. This is one of the situations in which the use of supplemental progesterone for men can be recommended. The others include
arthritis, epilepsy, dementia, stroke and some other circulatory problems, migraine, and cancer.”
Dr Douglass says, “I have always maintained that a man cannot escape harm from a vasectomy any more than a woman can escape harm from a tubal ligation.

In both cases a natural channel is being blocked. Where does the sperm go? Where does the blocked egg go and what effect does this blockage have on hormone levels in males and females?”
In other words you can’t, at least you shouldn’t, mess around with Mother Nature.

For example, Viagra can have unpleasant side-effects, including death, and
cannot overcome impotence when erectile-dampening drugs and a hopeless diet are
contributing factors. It’s better and safer to look to natural methods, such as
magnesium, zinc, boron, Co-enzyme Q10 and Maca powder when problems arise.
Approximately one-third of all cases of impotence occur due to endocrine problems. According to physicians in Peru and the US, Maca helps alleviate impotence because it regulates and supports the endocrine glands. It will not, however, overcome the deleterious effects of powerful drugs, and it is not
recommended for men with enlarged or cancerous prostates.

Pharmacological testosterone replacement, as opposed to natural, through injections, tablets, implants and patches, is widely used in the US and Europe, as well as in Australia.

This therapy may give a temporary improvement in function,
followed by problems you don’t even want to think about. Except in cases of documented testicular degeneration, this potent hormone should not be taken in pharmacologic doses.

Dr Michael Colgan explains that testosterone production can be improved by melatonin, seligiline, DHEA and acetyl-carnitine, but do not attempt self medication here.
Just remember, prevention is much better than a chancy ‘cure’, and your very first effort should be to follow the rules. If, after a fair trial, your manhood does not come bouncing back, sterner measures may be warranted, such as studying Dr Colgan’s book and then taking it to a knowledgeable
physician.
Are you confused? Then you are not alone. Most physicians are
confused, if not downright dangerous, because of their sketchy understanding of what occurs in the body when one pharmacological hormone, such as testosterone,
overwhelms the others. This field is in its infancy and should be approached with
great care, and only if you are convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that your
physician knows exactly what he is doing.
