I can understand if he had drink driving or doing drugs but accidents are called that because they are indeed accidents...

Accidents are an act of God .... these are crashes, not accidents; and there are always causal factors. Investigate and determine whether the causal factors warrant further punishment.

being a driver of a car , you are responsible for the people in the car and others around you . in the case of an accident regardless of what it is and some one is injured and or life lost then it is up to the forensic people to determine the cause ,

in this case the driver must @ least answer to a manslaughter charge , until it is proven beyond reasonable

His suffering hasnt even started. He has to live with that his whole life.
His future looks totally different to how they had planned to have with eachother.

His 18, He has his entire life to think about that accident. Unfortunately if it was reckless driving (going too fast around that corner) He still broke the law, so he should have to pay. If he is 18 I am guessing he wasn't experienced enough (probably still on his p"s) Most P platers will have some form of crash as they are still learning. Plus most 18 year olds think they are invincible.

It's so sad because even though you are right, Ginger
(about the face that 18 year old do think sometimes that they are indestructible),
this guy is going to be tormented his whole life that he lost his lover & his baby.....
All his future relationships will be marred by this - so it is like he is already serving a life sentence!

i agree with you DD but what do we do when life goes on and we all have to take responsibility for our actions no matter what they are , that is you we are adults
