Truth is that there are no more accidents, incidents or crazies are around during a full moon. Not today anyway.
Many years ago - before lights were invented, there may have been a rise in these phenomena - but not anymore.
The reason is fairly simple. Before lights were invented, a lot more people were active at night during a full moon.
"By the light of the moon" - with no artificial lighting, people relied on the moon to provide light at night and during a full moon there was the most light. Therefore, during a full moon a lot more people were active at night.
With a lot more people active at night during a full moon, a lot more accidents and incidents occurred during this time and a lot more crazy people were out and about.
Had there been no moon, all these people would have been at home. (No accidents etc.)
So there you have it.

The Latin word for the moon is luna. Madness/lunacy has always (medieval times) been associated with the phases of the moon.
Some people believe it has to do with the the pull of the earth that also affects the tides...and seeing our bodies are largely made up of water we too are affected , like the tides. Whether there is science behind this...I don't know......And that makes me crazy!

Consider that a human body consist of 65% water .Think about how the moon effect the tide in the ocean . Not only when its full or wanning but when it swapt places with the sun. So if the moon can effect water ( the ocean and our body comprises of 65% water . Yes it will effect us . Sometimes a woman menstrual cycle is effected by the moon . ( in some cases ) In other cases woman get their menstruation cycle when the moon is invisible or wanning . It just one of those beautiful phenomena and mysteries the universe offer
