I would just like to put in a few words/points, lets call it a mini rant

Now i am a receptionist at Langtrees, i deal with a lot of clients through out the day. Let me just make a few things clear;-

1. Yes it is my job to make sure that you are happy and your needs are met.
it is NOT my job to be insulted or harrassed

2. If it's busy, I'm likely to double check that i have your name right.
Don't treat me like an imbecile because i want to make sure the lady calls you by the right name.

3. I am a receptionist, i plan and confirm telephone bookings
I am NOT a sex line worker, I do not get paid for you to jack off over the phone.

4. If you are rude and disrespectful to me, the ladies will be warned that you are a tough client
The ladies deserve respect at the least, their job is not as easy as some portray it to be.

Lastly manners will get you a long way, Courtesy is always appreciated and i don't mind a good joke, i have a sense of humor and will happily banter with you while we sort out your booking.

Your having a rought time with the general public lately, arent you Zaida?
Its a damn shame.
I agree. Whats wrong with common courtesy?? Its not so common nowadays.

Lately, in order to get maintenace done on things that are broken on my house I've had to completely lose my temper before the companies realise I'm serious and actually do something about it!

Zaida, as a regular at LT's I couldn't wish for anyone more professional and organised to deal with my bookings. You are always so patient, friendly and ready to go that extra mile for anything that might make my visit be the best. I'm sorry to hear that you've been having a bad day or worse - days, if there was something I could do to make today better for you I would!

I don’t know, seems that the population is just lacking at the moment, or that they deem courtesy as a tedious attribute and don’t bother with it.

Seems like I’m the outlet at this point, but karma is watching so I behave. Man tradies are great to talk to but when it comes to the job depending on what company a lot over-charge and never do the job properly. It’s a bit of a pain cause they get away with a lot at their workplaces normally :/

Rum is all well and nice but on these days a shot of tequila and a Zombie Jamboree from Devilles does me just fin ^.^

Good on you to put it out there. I can only assume that you ladies behind the reception have to deal with as much crap as we have to deal with in the rooms.
But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and honestly one 'gentleman' experience does make up for bad ones.
Don't know why some guys leave manners behind as soon as they deal with an establishment.

Unfortunately there are people like this in the world. And yes when a client is rude at reception the heads up for the girls is the best thing. Bad attitudes at the counter usually mean a bad attitude in the room. No one wins with a bad attitude. Chin up Zaida, there more nice clients than nasty ones, it's always good to have a vent though :)

Have you done this sort of work before? If you haven't, it does sound like you're undergoing a baptism of fire.

Centrelink is still work Col. The amount of forms and interviews, meeting a case officer every now and then is hard work. I rather find a job and have a punt. lol...

Zaida, you should have the power to get the bouncer to usher the idiots and rude bastards out the door. But your boss may not like that though.

Amen to that, the paperwork is more tedious than a job. Rather employment and being able to afford to pay my rent and go out if i want to and not be so broke i can't feed myself after rent is paid.

Tania yeah i get what you mean, there are so many lovely clients now a days
