I sent off some emails today about 6AM Checked for a reply about 8AM In that time some one had posted over 2000 emails plus I had received slightly less back in the inbox from Daemon mail delivery saying this was Undeliverable

Rang Primus and they said in a week than can use 1 account to send a 1 000 000+ spam emails They get a few cases reported every week

Anyone else copped this

Ahoy;- It occurs constantly
be much more vigilant when clicking on links in an email message.

Here are some things to consider before clicking on a link:
1. Check the language in the message to see if it seems right.
2. Be wary of messages which claim you are “tagged in the content” or other phrases which can be used to make you curious and encourage you to click on the link. If it doesn’t seem right to you it is probably malicious.
3. If there is additional text that doesn’t make sense at the end of the message it is probably malicious.
4. Hover the mouse over the link (without clicking) and see if the web site address contains *something*. If not, there is a good chance that the email is malicious
5. Check who the message is from starting a reply (which you won’t actually send). If you are asked to download or include pictures, click no. Then see if the email address you are sending to matches who the message came from. If not, it is more than likely a malicious message.

Yes my Hotmail acc was.Out of nowhere,I found Messages, which I'd never sent, coming back to my inbox with a message saying they could not deliver this mail to the recipient. Got about 50 a day, Kept cancelling them and more would come back,Some messages even went out to some people in my Friends list ,had to quickly let them know I wasnt sending them these e-mails,Some of the e-mails that my Hotmail acc was sending out were straight out vile porn,
After a week of this happening, I contacted Hotmail ,told them what was going on ,and they advised me to change my password ,which I did ,and since then Ive had no more troubles.

Yep had my Yahoo-ing account hacked and sent out spam to all on my address book. The main purpose of hacking is to make use of your account to send spam. I don't know how they do it, but these spam do not appear as sent items.

You need to set up the security measures, like limit account login to certain city and country, set additional security like loggin onto your account from a different machine requires a code or additional password. And using a 20 - 28 character password helps. Though i received a sms message the other day someone tried to change my yahooey account password. So I changed my 25 character password again.

I concur HP, do not click on unknown link, even from known sender. Most spam does not contain meaningful words in them. Or subject that makes no sense. You just need to use common sense. Best to check with sender if they did send the link and do the Pauline Hanson.
