Malaysian police arrested a female newsreader, an actress and 24 other revellers at a New Year's Eve "sex and drugs" party at a Kuala Lumpur hotel,

The two high-profile women and seven others tested positive for drugs, police said, according to The New Straits Times, which reported that condoms, beer cans and half-eaten pizza were found strewn around the hotel room.

Police warned that the "no-underwear" event for under-40s, advertised through a website that asked for the equivalent of 100 Australian dollars as an entrance fee, could be a money-making scam.

M'sia supposed to be an Islamic country. Officially brothels do not exist.
However, ask any taxi driver around the KL region and they will tell you that the entire KL is a red light district.
Was just over in KL a few weeks ago. Their 'underground' brothel set up is complicated and designed to evade the authorities. I have to say, they are really good at it. FYI, 1hr session with the ladies will cost AUD 100 or lower (RM 200 - RM 250).

Anyways, my point being underground sex and drug parties are rife. Once in a while, the media highlights certain 'special event' because of the lack of news. You can be sure this goes on all the time. :)

When I lived in Malaysia, we had the police come to ask for our marriage certificate, since we were staying in a hotel room together. They had hoped for a bribe (since its a criminal offence) but we WERE already married :)
There are many Private Ladies in Malaysia (KL especially, Ipoh is also pretty busy) with most hotels offering 'rent by the hour' rooms.

I read this and thought, oh yerrrr,,,,,,, I could handle a party like that :)

Police warned that the "no-underwear" event for the under-40s, advertised through a website that asked for 250 ringgit ($103) as an entrance fee, could be a money-making scam.

Party organisers had reportedly said that male guests were banned from wearing briefs to the event, while women were permitted to wear only G-string underwear which had to be removed after midnight.
some pretty stupid laws out there.
Dunno about "out there". We have some pretty daft and archaic laws in this country too. Just think about the wowser-dominated shambles which passes itself off as our Licensing Court and as for the sex industry - for 5 years or so three Governments have faffed around with that and got nowhere.
