Long story short, parents who`s son has a major allergy to peanuts are complaining that a resturant that serves nuts is doing so too close to a childs playground. They feel a stray nut might find it`s way into a childs mouth.

Are they over reacting or should the resturant be told stop serving them?

My opinion, they are over reacting and if they are so concerned then maybe its better not let their son play there.

I suppose next they will insist that shops that sell nuts to keep them above child height.

How else are they supposed to get business without offering free nuts. Guess the customer should have done their research first. Seriously restaurants will try comply with food standards, the customer on booking should have said their son had a nut allergy. Or are the family con artists wanting to make their son sick so they can claim thousands of dollars. The parents are neglegent and uneducated if they don't do their research first to protect their children. The restaurant industry is so competitive the only way this premises could be different to the others that serve the same food, is by offering free nuts. Seriously get your wife to cook at home mate!!! Whinger, I just want to slap some sense into his face. Protect your own children.

That's just nuts to think nuts will grow wings and fly into kid's mouth. Crazy nutty people, too much nutella? :bucktooth:

Lock your nuts away, lock em i say. The authority might issue a general rule of securing one's nuts from escaping its restraints. :dead:

Strange that they haven't complained about the location of fast food restaurants being too close to schools? :wacky:

Rolling nuts a worry. Kids keep your hands away from other people's nuts alright. Go get yer own if your allowed. :beaver:

Hey that sounds like Lonestar in Success!

There's nuts everywhere!!! If it's a problem there then it's a problem for the kid to walk out the door. Don't get me wrong. I feel sorry for the family & know a couple of kids who are anaphylactic to peanuts but it still doesn't change my view that the parents are over-reacting. Just don't take them there & as for the playground close by well that's an unfortunate risk. My kids' school have a no share food policy in the account of nut allergies but there's still always going to be that risk, isn't there?

My vote = restaurant 1, family 0. Sorry.
