Most of us believe superstitions to be hooey yet many of us are still doing things that can be considered superstitious
I mean I still throw salt over my shoulder when cooking I don't even realise I am doing it.

What superstitious things or acts do you do I know many have become just good manners like Saying bless you when someone sneezes

Come on do you have a shirt you wear that is lucky when on the prowl for example ?

Man I have many... but I would not call them superstitions. When all disciplines of science are taken to their limits, many who cease to understand will call them superstitions.

Does anyone agree of disagree with that?

Disagree I do, mmmmm.

I believe in a clear and observable separation between the physical and metaphysical. While maintaining the physical is of utmost importance to a person's metaphysical health, many of the superstitions we know or obey have a root in history that came from a point of reason. Remember that young women used to be taken to the doctor to be given a series of orgasms to relieve hysteria!

Until you get to 'quantum' (and add another zero) science and physics obey laws that can explain just about everything we deal with in the day to day. Spirit and spirituality is another thing entirely.

So yeah, I throw salt over my shoulder, I don't break triangles (that's ladders), I avoid the number after twelve, and I think the Mayan Calendar ran out because they got bored of figuring out dates. I've at least dabbled in every major religion before returning to my roots as an Animist, and in keeping my medicine bag close, I have to say, there's more out there than science can explain, but let's not get all crazy... Some of it's just good physics.

Agree to disagree to that which you disagree I do (well at least in part).

There is a lot out there science is yet to explain. The separation between physical and metaphysical may only be observed as such because science has not yet explained the link between the two; and only then will we know which one of the two to be true.

I go out of my way to test superstitious beliefs. I will purposely walk under a ladder (checking that the pot of paint is stable), I choose number 13 in anything if it's available, I can't force black cats cross my path, I have purposely broken a mirror ............ah that explains my run of bad luck. :p;):)

According quantum mechanics itself there is no subjective...... the objective differs from one point of view to another and there is no right or wrong.

Too much is beyond me and I am learning not to judge... ..

A supersitious objective vs a follower of the great laws of the universe vs the hard view of the Jehova fearing old lady that condemns anything as the devil if its not in the bible...

There is no right and wrong........ I just live and let live....

I am highly suspicious of anyone superstitious - I have a theory that if I believe them a large lightening bolt will come out of the sky and strike me dead, Therefore I refuse to believe in superstition

Unfortunately I don't think that's a superstition SuperphreakeR but a reality And if a 4th bad thing happens it is not really Number 4 but Number 1 in a whole new trilogy of bad things

Sounds like herbalism to me! She's a witch, she's a witch!

Rosemary is a scent trigger to make one remember, and magickally used for just that purpose. It's also stellar at cleansing away sickness and negative energies, which is why you often find it mixed with sage.

Garlic is known to have medicinal properties in about a hundred different ways, including excellent vitamin content, and the oil seeps out the skin, repelling mosquitos. Magickally it's a "big gun" for protective work, repelling all kinds of black magic, but it's also used to empower mojo bags and the like for increasing negative work.

Also, lots of practitioners swear (myself included) that the taste of garlic infiltrates semen production, so watch it in the ten hours or so before you're going to get jiggy with it.

Haha its also known for its digestive benefits and for being an anti inflammatory and purported to assist in the reduction of tumor causing agents in the brain.

A piece of useless info - most people think the games in ancient Rome at the Colosseum went for a few days - they actually went for far longer - the first went for 100 days, people began to smell after a few days so a machine sprayed a mixture of water and essential oils over the 20,000 spectators who gathered here to watch the world’s first reality show: the gladiatorial games.!!
So witches and Caesars have more in common that you knew lol!!

Thats not superstition Dallas just ask St John Ambos and the local Emergencies they all say it does - of course it could just be "luna-tics" taking advantage of the night vision lol - hence the word 'lunatics' lol

Who would have thought an Air Supply tribute band playing to ladies at the Croquet club would have to face such violence Dallas

It was probably playing my guitar with my tongue while singing a Barry Manilow song that caused them to throw their shandy's in my direction  :p

I do the salt thing too! Haha ^-^

I also have a thing about matching underwear. I think it's good luck. If I can't find matching underwear in the morning it means I'm going to have a bad day lol :p

Don't tell me, you hollered Mandy? Your not so dandy Mandy song muttering caused the Shandy in their handy to be hurled in your general direction. I guessed Andy may have a different ring to it.
