I'm no fan of C & W music (yeah, yeah I know the line from the Blues Brothers - spare me) but I heard this on my favourite radio station early this afternoon. I will grant C&W has come up with some hilarious lyrics over the years. Enjoy and LYAO!

Not a fan of the genre myself but there are a few artists I like - John Prine, Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam. Particularly John Prine.

I've heard it said before that Country albums are the hardest to produce. You'll probably find some of your favourite bands/artists were (or at least their producers were) influenced by Country.

Glen Campbell (more MOR), Archie Roach and Neal Murray (though he's more folk) are ones I like listening to. The Rolling Stones were influenced, admittedly not largely, by the genre as were The Eagles and Creedence.

Say hello to Alison Krauss. If she can't turn you on to country music (o.k. bluegrass) then no-one can.

There are several clips of her and her backup players on you tube but this is my favourite. Jerry Douglass' slide guitar work is the icing on the cake.
