I wouldn't trust the Chinese with there numbers, deaths rose today alot today I think 54 to 81, whats tommorrow and new cases, incubation period is like 2 weeks. Suspected transmission without symptoms Some article reckons 5 million left the city before lockdown occurred. Now twice Australia population of 50 million in lockdown Eating bats ? these guys pass viruses easily in numbers apparently. Its looking ugly, economy's about to gridlock. Its been round since September, October, contagious, no vaccine for a while.... buckle up for a bumpy ride nothing's positive. Could be worst virus for a long time or our lifetime anyway...

Don't need to be panic. Having business with Chinese companies. Do not underestimate the power of Chinese Gov. Things not that as bad as what we read and see online. Whoever there are trying to make up. Chinese Gov opened up special online for those who want to report suspicious people or other stuff regarding this. Quite transparency. Individuals, Families, Universities, Villages, residential areas ... locked up by themselves. Strangers couldn't be able to get in especially people from Wuhan.

Things are in order and under control quickly by Chinese Gov now. The local gov caused this problems. They arrested few people who reported them this disease in the first place as soon as they found out. But local gov had been trying to hid it from Chinese Gov till it out of their control. Chinese Gov had already token over the local gov to sort it out.

People there are not really panic about it. They even said not have such nice quiet time during Chinese New Year time for a long time. It is good to stay at home, get a rest and save their money as well. We cannot physically get in but we still can do the business via internet. Not too bad at this stage. But still suggest do not go to the crowds for few weeks till things cleared. Good luck!

Provided the government even gets permission from China to evacuate the citizens they will only be quarantined for 14 days. That makes sense as the virus has a 2 week incubation period..

While it sounds harsh - it's better to be safe and take all possible precautions. I watched ScoMo's press conference live on the ABC this morning and this was recommended that this take place by the Chief Medical Officer (who was also in attendance at the press conference) and that anyone who be repatriated there would only be there for 14 days maximum. Have to remember that with Australia's strict biosecurity conditions, Australia is the only country in the world that has been free of rabies for years. So if we have to take these precautions to further prevent the spread of Coronavirus so be it.

Seems China has already found the way to test virus carrier accurately and some effectual treatments. The Gov released huge founds for building hospitals for coronavirus patients and giving those patients free treatments.

Unbelievable, how come China can build a hospital in a week time.

It couldn't have come at a worse time with Chinese New Year and heaps of Chinese people on the move

The other problem is that many of the massage parlours around Perth employ many Chinese girls, who may have gone back for Chinese New Year or for a holiday from College/University. So that is a possible danger of them (if they were in the epicentre of the virus) to spread it to fellow employees or clients. Still no firm proof yet by medical experts that it cannot be spread by human to human interaction.
