Cinemas Future

Prediction - I know of one or two director's who released their films on DVD or straight to television at the same time as the cinema release but historically it is rare. So with that in mind I predict that beginning next year one major studio in particular will make this method part of their release strategy. That studio being Disney.

Movies these days are too PC for me.... especially ones from Hollywood , sooner watch European Art house ones.

I have often thought we are currently living in the dark age of film. For example, in art, the creative spirit breaks through convention and creates. In economic terms this equates as risk. One of my favourite film directors is Francis Ford Coppola and I adore his creative spirit, most notably in the seventies with the hellish shoot that became the making of "Apocalypse Now". Real helicopters, real blood, real insanity. What a contrast to the sequels and CGI of modern times.

Interesting...I think this would bring a lot less business to the cinemas, but I'm sure that's what they would be predicting as well
Surely there will still be people who will go to the movies to get the whole experience of watching a movie in a theatre but I think the cost of purchasing it on DVD same day as cinema release will easier and cheaper for a lot of families (Disney movies in mind)
Also, it would only take a few days for the DVD to be put onto an illegal streaming or download sites used by heaps of people

CGI has defintely changed the movie game, I guess leaving more money for costumes etc which can be defintitely be noticed in movies lately

Yes. This is why I used Disney as an example as they lose a certain amount of profit for the cinema cut and if they charged more for the same release film on their streaming service the numbers just make logical sense.
