Can you get burnt out as a female sex worker?

Yeah yeah, we all know the jokes about friction and smoking after sex. But I do wonder if it's possible that women get burnt out in the sex industry or need to take severely long breaks for whatever reason e.g. having holidays, kids, relationships - maybe having achieved their goals money-wise - and then make a return (or not). Is it necessarily confined to any age?

I have always taken time out from the industry. You live an alternative life really, and i sometimes need to get back to normality and think its healthy for the soul to do so and also to recharge. So my way is going off travelling and living out of a backpack no make up no hairdryer and meeting people who i dont have to entertain if i dont want to lol.
And when i leave in Aug it will be a permanent break :-( start studying for a life long job back home in Yorkshire!

I think everyone has burnout at some stage in any job. That's when it's time to step back for a short time, take a breath, recoup energy, then grab the bull by the horns with a new, well rested enhanced fervor

I am totally burnt out at my job. Most mornings I mutter "this is bullshit" when I wake up. Takes a few seconds for the system to reboot in the mornings. I temporarily forget I've got a shitty job I have to go to to pay off this mortgage (and no holidays planned). And I'll probably have to keep doing this bullshit for another 30 years, at least. By which time the best years of my life will have passed me by. I will have spent them on a computer chair.. Making money for other people! It's the way it is for many.

I was like you Mike, worked for 35 years in all sorts of jobs, paying off the mortgage, getting set up for retirement, renovating the house, trying to be a hard working and faithful husband, then my wife dumps me, still in the process of selling everything and then I'll be back to where I was 22 years ago and all have to show for it is some Ca$h and 22 years less of my life. Think I'm just gonna take a break from work for a while, lay on a beach and read some self-help books

Yes I do believe sex workers burn out pretty quick and need to sit back and put our lives in perspective. Apart from the mental stress, we put our bodies through the wringer.
They use to say that having sex was equivalent to a 10 mile run. So if you have on average 5 clients a day that is a 50 mile run ( not walk, run)

Definitely, working girls should take an occasional break from the industry and reconnect with the "real" world, if only because this is where you will "retire" to when you quit sex work. It would be nice to think you could work and save enough in a few years to never have to work again but for most girls I doubt if that happens. More likely that once the body is past its best you will need some other career to keep food on the table.

By all means jet off to exotic locations and enjoy some quality holidays but keep an eye on the long game too.

My advice would be to spend some time and money on attaining some sort of professional qualification and lining up some job possibilities and keep the sex work earnings as the start of a good superannuation plan or use them to set yourself up in the kind of house most young ladies could only dream about.
