asphyxiation - your opinion?

I've had the desire for asphyxiation for a long time - not too sure where it stems from - and only really recently had someone put their hands around my throat [even though they didn't really press down hard enough for it to work] and enjoyed it so much...

I don't have the urge to die, but I rather enjoy the feeling of asphyxiation. Perhaps it's the idea of no control [like going around corners really fast] that intrigues me...not sure...

But anyway, what's your opinion on it?

Do you enjoy it? Why? How did you get into it...how did it get into you?

There have been a couple of discussions of thie recently and it certainly has a following. I experimented with it briefly in my youth on my own and found it quite an intense experience but, of course, you must be super careful.

Having someone you can trust partially strangle you manually is much safer than messing around with nooses etc but even this way there are risks. For instance, in unarmed combat I was taught several strangle holds most of which rely on compressing the carotid arteries - so-caled sleeper holds. If these are maintained too long you can create or shake loose an embolism and cause a stroke. Likewise, the brain has a very limited tolerance for oxygen deprivation.

As Michael Hutchence could testify (if he were still alive) it is probably more risk than the sensation is worth.

Tried it once
Not a fan
Firstly, i realy like the feeling of being dominated or controlled but thats past my boundaries, that was with someone i really, really trusted and it just freaked me out a bit. To me its to hard to come back from, thats total surrender to someone else and i just cant do it. I dont think id want to either.
I got off on the feeling but not the actual event.
Now i just hold my breath when i cum......hehehe make lots a noise leading up to the event and then go silent when its about to happen. Talk about mixed msgs!! Poor blokes :)
Secondy we discovered i bruise easily. Try explaining THAT to workmates!
I know why people want to do it. Its a rush and makes orgasm a hell of a lot more intense. Good luck!!

Well myself im a big fan!
i guess working in the sex industry i felt as though i was mainly in control most of the time of what was going on and this started to bore me over the years.
My husband and i now practice breath play on a regular basis and i love being dominated. Ive only ever passed out twice but ill let you know i had the best orgasim beforehand.

I like dominating more than being dominated - but the asphyxia i enjoy. Of course, you can always teach someone how you like it done so they can do it to you...

This is something the wife and I do regularly, and she really enjoys it - begs for it sometimes.
The way I do it is a finger and thumb on both carotid arteries and press firmly. After about 10 seconds she passes out. If you can time it with an orgasm - all the better. She is out for about 5 seconds, and then takes a big breath.

I must say, I've tried the receiving end, but couldn't relax enough.

This is a very dangerous practise but i am sure you realise this already.....it does not take much pressure to kill someone.Plus fatty plagues can build up on the carotid arteries and by applying pressure to that area can dislodge them then bingo....stroke or heart attack material....

Yep, Soixie is dead right.

This is called a sleeper hold and I learned it during martial arts training. It usually involves wrestling and if you were the stranglee you would "tap" in submission the instant you felt the pressure. If applying the hold you would release as soon as you felt the carotid pulses on both sides whether the opponent "tapped" or not.

People have died or suffered serious injury this way.

I have recently been ko'd by asphyxiation and it was indeed quite a weird feeling when I came to. Even though I was only out for 30 seconds, it felt like 15 minutes. This event wasn't of a sexual nature, more an experiment to entertain the masses - but indeed, you do need to trust the person who is performing the action on you.

What I prefer more, having experienced that though, is actually the happening of it, reduction of blood flow, but NOT being ko'd.
