Hi there :hello:everyone,, I have another question, if anyone can help.... please... my friend is on a medication that lowers her sex drive, she is almost completly dry and the thought of sex makes her cringe. she was however less than 6 months ago a horny little chic... she is getting very upset with this as it upsets her man... is there anything she can take that is natural... she is tooo shy to ask at the chemist or the doctors. so i thought i would ask here!!!

Mrs Joey, there are a lot of medications that can afect the sex drive by effectively drying (for want of a better word) up the vagina. i would suggest going back to her GP (or find a female one) and discuss this with them. this is a side effect of a medication which is affecting her life, so they might be able to change the medication she is on. also maybe start slow with some oral with lots of lube to make up for the lack of natural lube.
i hope she finds an answer, but i suggest talking to her GP, no need to be embarassed, she wont be the first to suffer from this.

Joey, There is no need for you or your missus to suffer like this. Presumably a Doctor prescribed the medication she is now on and he/she should be able to prescribe something else to do the same job or something to deal with the side effects. If you read the drug company leaflet which should have been in the packet with the pills it will tell you all the known side effects and suggest how they may be avoided or reduced.

If this is some nostrum "prescribed" by a naturopath or other non-medically qualified person I would suggest ditching it and seeking proper advice.

Thank you all so much for the advise, all is quiet different. sorry,,, I didnt specify the sort of medication.... She is on a "anti"depression medication, I am unsure of the name of it.. It is a high dosage tho... she is due for a review this month and I hope i have talked her into discussing this with her doc.... I just thought if there is anything out there to help her with her sex drive in a way that wouldnt affect any medication....

Taking BuSpar (Buspirone) in addition to my anti depressent worked for me. I showed my doctor the book I found the info in as I don't think she knew about it. They can't know everthing.

Herbal remedies are mentioned also in the article. Such as Yohimbine, Ginkgo biloba, Oriental ginseng, but I didn't try these. And idealy talk to your doctor B4 even taking herbal stuff with other medication.

And what seems like a curse to some helps others
