A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to almost seven years' jail for what a Perth judge has described as the "sadistic" and "degrading" rape of a Perth sex worker more than 20 years ago. In July 1994, Karl Boyd Bryhn lured the then 35-year-old victim to a house in Gosnells, put a pillowcase over her head, handcuffed her, taped her mouth and eyes, and repeatedly sexually assaulted her. Bryhn fled, leaving the woman bound and with the pillowcase still over head, however she managed to free herself and contacted police. He subsequently moved to South Australia and the crime remained unsolved until a cold case review by WA police last year led to his DNA matching samples taken from the scene. Bryhn was charged and extradited to Perth where he pleaded guilty to five charges including deprivation of liberty and sexual penetration without consent. The District Court was told Bryhn had a troubled background that included him being sexually assaulted when he was a child. Judge Phillip Eaton described the offences as "very serious" and said they were "carefully planned". "Sex workers ... who work late into the night are particularly vulnerable in their occupations, but they're equally entitled to the protection of the law," he said. He sentenced Bryhn to six years and nine months in jail, backdated to the time of his arrest in September last year. Bryhn will be eligible for release on parole after serving four years and nine months.

I have heard of similar attacks on W/L (in particular to Asian W/L) where they used a hotel room as the ambush point,
these guys make me sick and my personal view is bring back Public Floggings.
