you can buy one that covers all countries, from the airport or duty free shops, probably an alternative in Bunnings cheaper.

H2, you have no idea how much of a fetish I have for any travel items. Don't even get me started on suitcases lol. Every place I visit I have to buy the lonely planet guide for! Weirdo that's for sure.

I'm confident Germany / austria and chile are 2 circle prongs spaced a cm or so apart. "Type C" adaptor. Malaysia from memory is an upside down triangle with rectangle prongs. "Type G".

Like Maryanne said you can buy one that fits all countries, it just has adapters which slide in and out. Similar to a lot of new phone chargers (blackberry definitely!)

Happy2:

I have and happily still do travel a lot... AN INVALUABLE TIP for your trip....
bring a expander socket plug "thingamajing" *** because you normally need to
charge your phone, your camera, your IPAD/notebook/computer, your shaver..
just not 1 item these days!!! Make sure its the one that has the EXTRA space
between each socket plug for the larger charger thingys!***
and in most hotels you may have only 1 extra socket to use in your room....

*** Never been good at the technical terms!!!

Correct WRXXXR, Germany used the two circle prongs........no worries about the voltage......I never blew anything. You can buy the adapters/pin designs etc. at the airport.
I don't know how much time you would like to spend in Germany and where you would like to go but if you want some tips, let me know and I search my "German memory".........lol.....can even translate the most important phrases for you ;)

Like Fudd said, korjo are pretty much the most common brand and the Airport will have them, but witha heavily inflated price. If the big green warehouse doesn't stock them, hit up the suitcase / hand bag shops.

Sounds like a solid travel itinerary!

A powerboard is what your thinking about I think DD :)

I always take one with at least 4-6 outlets on it when I travel either here or oseas. Dead handy to be ale to just use one travel plug and still be able to charge/use all my powered equipment.

I also like the travel USB chargers with multiple adapters as many devices can now be charged via USB plug.

Safe travels

For a whole lot of useful info about almost every country on the globe go here:

www.lonelyplanet.com

Navigate to the "Thorn Tree" bulletin board and start reading. Chances are what you need to know will be there and if it isn't just post an enquiry the same as you did here.

Happy travelling.
