For safety reasons the accused name has been removed from this thread and replaced with "The Accused"

"The Accused" is accused of starting the Churchill-Jerralang fires in Gippsland which killed 11 people.

He is facing charges of arson causing death, intentionally lighting a bushfire and a count of possessing child pornography.

Everyone would have heard of this man by now, so if you had lost your home from a bush fire caused by this man, how would you really feel??

I know I would want to give him some of his own medicine. Eg burning his house down while he watched everything he owned go up in flames or being in the house trying to find his way out through smoke and flames and see how he coped.

This all sounds probably rather nasty to some of you but this is just a discussion or a debate to see what others think, so lets hear what you all have to say.

I have to ask you Mac'nOphi whether, if you can imagine it, how you would really feel if your house was burnt and if you found out this man was responsible.

I know it's a hard thing to do to try and put yourself in the Victorian bush fire victims shoes BUT, would you still be happy if this man was institutionalised?

I know it didn't happen to us personally but I don't believe sending him to somewhere comfortable where psychiatrists will spend time trying to find out what made him commit these attrocities is really going to give anyone peace of mind.

I'm all in favour of reasoned debate and the rule of law.
However, in this case I am prepared to make an exception.

I think he should have his genitals firmly fixed to the wooden floor of a large wooden building with heavy gauge fencing wire.

The large wooden house should then set on fire, and he should be given a small, blunt pocket knife.

I'm sure you can all fill in the blanks! :angry1:

Probably the most inappropriate and unlawful thread that has been placed on this forum. I wonder where the forum administrators are with this or are they included in this illegal thread. From my understanding any thread based on an Australian server that can be traced can see the participants also in court.

The case at hand is presently before the courts and as such this fellow is innocent and although named, cannot be defamed, police here in the eastern states are currently moving against Facebook and other sites where hate comments have been posted by its members you "cannot exclude, as a matter of law, the possibility that an "extreme" or 'singular' case might arise in which the effect of a sustained media campaign of vilification and prejudgment is such that, notwithstanding lapse of time and careful and thorough directions of a trial judge, any conviction would be unsafe and unsatisfactory by reason of a significant and unacceptable likelihood that it would be vitiated by impermissible prejudice and prejudgment. In such a case, a permanent stay may be granted.”

If current indications are any guide, the case of Brendan Sokaluk might well be such a case.

I would tread very carefully before posting on a public forum some of the comments that have been posted above as you may well find yourselves also before the courts.

Why is this thread illegal?

Well, to be honest I see no reason why this thread shouldn't continue. People are simply venting there feelings of anger towards someone that has committed one of the worst crimes, if not the worst crimes in Australia's history.

I disagree, no one has done anything illegal here.

I am not trying to cause trouble here, you host on Server Pronto so could possibly get away with this given disassociation with the current banned sites, but even so for those that are posting and based here in Australia, ignorance is no defence. You are an admin here so you are free to accept the ramifications of your actions, maybe you should consult your legal team on this..
